Policy on Determining Eligibility for Catholic Rate
We are given a stipend for each baptized catholic child through the roman catholic diocese. For this reason, if your child is a baptized catholic child, they will be eligible for the Catholic tuition rate. A certificate of baptism is required.
Policy on Determining tuition rates for Families with More Than One Child
The Pre-K program is required to follow Vermont Licensing regulations on the ratio of one adult to 10 children each room. A second or third child discount is never applied to the Pre-K rate. If one or more children from a family are enrolled in Pre-K, the family is charged the full rate for each Pre-K child. A child in Pre-K might be eligible for the State of Vermont CCFAP program and/or tax credits.
Example 1: A family with two Pre-K students and one K-8 would be charged the following:
1st Child in Pre-K $8,700.00 2nd Child in Pre-K $8,700.00 3rd Child in grade K-8 $5,100.00 Total $22,500.00
There are three options for Tuition payments:
Example 2: A family with three students would be charged the following:
1st Child $7,600.00
2nd Child $6,000.00
3rd Child $5,100.00
Total $18,700.00
Option #1: One payment due August 1, payable to SMSM By cash or check. ($5 fee if you go through FACTS)
Option #2: Two equal payments due July and January available through the FACTS system only. There is a $15.00 FACTS fee for this option charged through FACTS. (all payments are deducted by ACH from your bank account).
Option #3: Monthly payments are available through the FACTS system only. Payments must begin in July for 12 (Number of payments decrease depending on start date). This plan is subject to a $50 fee charged through FACTS. (all payments are deducted by ACH from your bank account).
AID INFORMATION:
There is a limited amount of need-based financial assistance available for students in grades K-8 awarded through the school by committee. To be considered for assistance you must request aid through FACTS Grant and Aid Program. There is a $45.00 fee due with the application and you must upload your W-2 information and household income and expenses. This should be done online (inquire with office about site). The committee meets at the end of June or beginning July and then we will reach out to each individual who has requested aid to notify them of the committee’s decision. If you are offered aid, you must accept the offer for your assistance to be applied to your account and the payment plan to begin.
We do not offer assistance for the preschool program. We do accept the state of Vermont Child Care Financial Assistance Program (CCFAP) for preschool, after school care (ASP) and summer camp. If you already qualify you need to inform them the dates that you will be attending our school and they will issue a certificate and make payments directly to our school. (We submit weekly attendance). If you are not currently approved you need to go to the state web site to fill out the application and submit it to the state of Vermont
