2024-2025 Performing Arts Policies

Concerts:
To all of our new and returning families. Please make note of the dates and times for our
Christmas and Spring Concerts. The Christmas concert is scheduled for the evening of
Wednesday, December 11th at 6 PM (snow date 12/12). The Spring concert is scheduled for
the afternoon of Wednesday, May 28th 1PM. These two concerts are REQUIRED for all
students in grades K-8 (Pre-K students will learn music for the concerts and are urged to come).
Only family emergencies and illness will be considered excused. Sports games/practices and
vacations are not excused. Unexcused absence from the concerts will affect a student’s grade.

Tardies, Early Dismissals and Absences for performing ensembles:
A student’s weekly participation in performing ensembles (band grades 4-8) is an integral part of
their arts education. When a student misses a rehearsal, arrives late or leaves early they miss
learning opportunities that can not be “made up” in a way that matches the in-program
experience.

● 3 tardies and/or early dismissals will be allowed per trimester. Any tardies and/or early
dismissals past the allowed 3 will be equivalent to an absence.- being part of the entire
ensemble rehearsal is extremely important to the success of the musician AND the
ensemble.

● 2 Absences will be allowed as “excused” per trimester. All other absences past the
allowed 2 will be counted as zero points
